Newsletter # 1 - October 2009

Welcome, and thank you for joining us at the Broadway Dance Academy!  For those of you who don’t know, we are now in our 18th successful year of operation and we are looking forward to sharing our excitement with you.  Please read this newsletter carefully as we have included a lot of information that is important for you to know.  Note that all of our policies can be found in our “Studio Policies 2008-2009” handbook, which is on the front desk.  Letters are handed out to students every two months, please check the handbook for the latest letter.   If your child did not receive the latest newsletter please let us know and we will ensure that you get one.

Ongoing Registration

There are still openings available for the first session: in musical theatre, tap, hip hop, jazz, ballet, kids and teen ballroom (boys are encouraged).  If you or your child is interested taking any of these classes, please check its availability with the front desk.  Remember, each additional class is 10% off!

Pre-Teen and Teen  Ballroom

Due to the success of our “kids’ ballroom” last year, we have introduced a Pre-Teen and Teen Ballroom class for ages 12 – 17 years of age. It is a fun and exciting way to get started in social dancing.  This class is filling up quickly, so please ask us how to get your child enrolled!

Adult Special

For $29 we are offering a special for new ballroom students. You can learn foxtrot, swing, tango, waltz, salsa, rumba, samba, country, merengue and wedding dances. Learn how to dance with a partner or without in private and group lessons.

Christmas show 

Our annual Christmas show will be held at Thousand Islands Secondary School on December 19th, 2009. There will be no classes that day.  Tickets will be $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 years old and under (sold at the studio and at the door).  This will be a great show for family and friends to see!  All of our students are encouraged to participate. More information will follow in the next newsletter.

Dance-A-Thon

A Dance-A-Thon will be held at the studio on Saturday, March 27th, from 11 AM until 1 PM (classes will be running on a normal schedule).  More information will follow in the next newsletter.  If you have any questions, or would like to pick up a pledge form, please see us at the front desk.

Tracksuits, Hoodies, Pants and Dance Bags

Tracksuits, pullover hoodies, fleece pants and dance bags are being ordered this fall. If you are interested please fill out the attached form.  A great idea for a Christmas Gift!
